Honesty.
No marketing softness. No uptime percentages we cannot back. Just what we run, what we promise, and what we do not.
This is a branch of Digital Disconnections.
discnxt is the cooperative arm of Digital Disconnections — built to democratize technology by buying resources in bulk and stopping the rent-collecting middlemen. We pool server space, domain buying power, and AI editing capacity so Pittsburgh-area businesses get ownership-grade websites without the SaaS markup.
"We at Digital Disconnections aim to write that software that gives us our time back, to be with our kids, our friends, our loved ones–to create art, to be humans doing the things we've always wished we could."
"AI has created the space to achieve truly customized solutions to our problems that fully solve the task they are designed for and without charging us rent merely to exist."
— Digital Disconnections, Our Story
Your site lives on leased server space we own the slot on.
We run Contabo VPS infrastructure for compute and Namecheap for DNS. We pay for those slots in advance, so your site does not vanish because a subscription lapsed. We are evaluating IONOS as a second hosting provider for redundancy.
Here is what that means in plain language:
- Cloud-level uptime risk applies to everyone. Contabo's binding terms promise 99.9% physical connectivity, with no service credits if they miss it. We also reviewed IONOS's consumer VPS terms (we are evaluating them as a second provider) — they contain no numeric uptime SLA at all. We do not quote prettier numbers than the contracts do.
- The hosting itself is not the fragile part. What breaks most small-business sites is platform complexity — bloated builders, auto-updates that conflict, plugin rot. A static HTML site on a lean VPS is simpler to keep online than a WordPress install with 17 plugins.
- We monitor, we respond, we do not hide. If your site is down, we know before you email us. If Contabo has an incident, we post it on status.html with exactly what broke and what we are doing.
- Your files are yours. We hand you a zip of your entire site on delivery. If you ever want to move it to another host, you can — there is no database to export, no proprietary format to convert.
AI edit support is useful, reviewed, and limited.
AI edit support is included during an active term. It can help draft copy, resize images, and prepare style changes. It is useful. It is also new, expensive, and imperfect.
Here is what that means in plain language:
- AI agents make mistakes. They hallucinate facts, misread tone, and occasionally produce broken HTML. Every AI-sourced change we publish is reviewed by a human before it goes live.
- AI pricing is brand-new and shifting. Routine maintenance edits are included during an active term, but we do not promise unlimited or permanent AI service after that term ends.
- Some requests need scope. Larger migrations, ecommerce, booking, secure logins, complex integrations, and major redesigns require a scoped addendum before work starts.
- Do not lean on AI for time-sensitive or critical changes. If you have a holiday-hour update, a pricing change, or a compliance edit, email us directly at hello@discnxt.com. We aim to respond quickly during business hours and will provide timing before work starts.
Discnxt service fees and payment processor fees are separate.
For standard sites, new builds are $500 setup plus $195 every 3 years; migrations are $700 setup plus $195 every 3 years. No additional Discnxt platform transaction fee is added. If you sell online, payment processor fees are separate.
If you stop renewing, active support ends; your site files and ownership remain with you.
